  • Colin Farrell & Ed Norton on 'Pride and Glory': 'All we did was fight'

    The Canadian Press has caught up with 'Pride and Glory' stars Colin Farrell and Ed Norton. The actors talks about  working with eachother- having only two scenes together which included a climatic fight scene, where their only screen time together included . The actors also chat about Jon Voight, the script, and the most rough moments from on set. 'Pride and Glory' is out in theaters today.

    "...There's something about the guys from that era. There's something about the way we all work, I don't know why. I always feel more straight or more square. Somehow when I get around Voight or (Harvey) Keitel, they have a way they come at things that for a lot of us is somehow more unfamiliar..."

    The Irish Voice has exclusively interviewed Edward Norton and John Voight about their latest film 'Pride and Glory'. Norton shares the film's morality tale, the dynamic script and cultural history it entails. Voight touches on his Irish connection, and the director of the film. 'Pride and Glory' is out in theaters October 24th.

    "...I have great friends among the police and fire department in New York and the majority cultural influence there is the Irish. The film has all the aspects the Irish connect to, the culture and the fierce family loyalty, and a faith, and I think it’s very prominent in this film..."

  • Actor Ed Norton breaks police blue code of silence

    AFP has posted an article on 'Pride and Glory'. Director Gavin O'Connor and star Edward Norton were present at the Toronto International Film festival. The film also stars Colin Farrell and Jon Voight. They discuss the unspoken code of conduct and loyalty that cops have for each other. 

    "...I wondered if you took this notion of a police fraternity and then you take a real family of cops and you put them in a blender, what would happen," said O'Connor. "Where would your loyalties lie?..."

  • Ed Norton hopes cop genre film Pride and Glory speaks to America's bigger issues

    The Canadian Press has posted an article on 'Pride and Glory.'  Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the film has just screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Edward Norton, who stars alongside Colin Farrell and Jon Voight, was in town to promote the film. After reading the script, Norton felt it spoke volumes about the current situation in the United States.

    "...In part it's about saying, 'What's our generation experiencing that can refract through this and make it something that's not just a cop corruption drama but that sort of ends up echoing that cultural moment?..."

  • Norton brings intensity to Pride and Glory as cop probing scandal

    The Indianapolis Star has posted an article on 'Pride and Glory'. Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the film stars Colin Farrell, Edward Norton and Jon Voight. While the film centers around corrupt cops, it's also inspired by by the Iraq war and more recently, the events at Abu Ghraib. When details from Abu Ghraib began to be released, O'Connor and Norton began having discussions.

    "...We started saying to each other that the institutional lying at the center of 'Pride and Glory' mirrored the crucible the country was going through. What's so fascinating to me about Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo or any flash point is that somewhere around it there is a person who surely has deep feelings of loyalty to his fellow soldiers, his unit, his army, his country..."

    Variety reports that 'Pride And Glory' will be opening the 9th annual Woodstock Film Festival on October 2nd. Edward Norton and Colin Farrell star the authentic, gritty, and emotional portrait of the New York City Police Department. The festival presents an innovative variety of films, first-class concerts, workshops, celebrity-led panels, an awards ceremony, and fantastic parties.

  • Toronto Film Festival Unveils Lineup

    Event boasts 500-plus guest list

    Variety is reporting on the Toronto International Film Festival's completed lineup. This year's festival is attracting some big names to the guest list, including Edward Nortnon for 'Pride and Glory.' Neil Burger’s 'The Lucky Ones' will have it's world premiere, and the Coen brother's 'Burn After Reading' will have it's North American Debut' during the Gala screenings. Canadian Cameron Labine's 'Control Alt Delete' will also debut.
